My friend texted me this week about her stubborn blackheads and how to remove them. I recently found a new method that I’m obsessed with, so I figured it was a sign from the skin gods that I needed to share this.
Do you have stubborn blackheads/bumps on your nose, chin, cheeks or t-zone? Have you tried every deep pore face mask and still have those blackheads/bumps? Well what if I told you that some of those stubborn black dots aren’t actually blackheads, but are actually oil plugs. I found this on TikTok and I am so glad I did. I have been using an Oil Cleanser for about a week now, and all those stubborn blackheads/oil plugs I have been trying to get rid of are completely gone. I am shocked! Oil Cleansing sounds scary, but "like attracts like," so oil is perfect for removing oil, dirt, pollution, and makeup on your face. Some benefits of Oil Cleansing are balanced oil production, heals active acne, and deep cleanses pores. Here are the steps below!
Remove makeup with micellar cleansing water. If you are using makeup wipes, I encourage you to swap it out for this. Makeup wipes do not remove all of your makeup and are bad for the environment! Micellular water lasts way longer and takes off all your makeup and debris. I use Bioderma and apply the micellular water to a cotton round. Repeat until all makeup is off. https://rstyle.me/+ntCp7aLJJVPrhNZEt1xicQ
Dry face and use 1-2 pumps of your oil cleanser. Pump into dry hands and massage onto a dry face. Take your time massaging this into your skin. I have been massaging the oil into my face for a few minutes. This also helps with any face puffiness and will help increase your blood flow (your face might turn red from massaging, but it will go away in a few minutes). You will start to feel any oil plugs come out of your pores. It will feel grainy on your skin...oddly satisfying. The Oil Cleansing Method suggests you massage for about 15 minutes, but I recommend to start with a few minutes and slowly increase your time. I am a huge fan of Dermologica products and have been loving their Precleanse Cleansing Oil. https://rstyle.me/+RvuXGgp4pK1NEdIzv7y19A
Run your fingers through water and massage your damp finger tips on your face. Your oil cleanser will start to foam.
Now wash your face with water and follow with your favorite cleanser! I have been using the Murad Acne Cleanser if I have any breakouts, but have been using CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser if my skin is clear. I love how gentle this cleanser is for day and night use. https://rstyle.me/+Vt0bEI8rm_Np6_hUHEhzoA https://rstyle.me/+lSqiQJhwA9gLWnk0gYEHoA
I have been using an oil cleanser for about a week now, and can tell that my pores are visibly smaller, feel tighter, and what I thought were blackheads are completely gone! Take a before photo of your pores and compare them in a week!
